How this one is different
The 2026 edition changed the input list, and a review run on the 2015 agenda is a finding. This agenda is the 2026 inputs in the standard's order with an owner on each, the minutes are laid out as showed, concluded, decided, and a carry-over count on the front page tells you whether review changes anything.
How to use it
- Assign an owner to each input on the agenda tab; they bring the data.
- Before the meeting, mark every measure better or worse than last time so the meeting spends its time on what moved.
- Run the meeting down the agenda. Every input gets a line in the minutes, even "no change".
- Record each decision as showed, concluded, decided, with an owner and a date.
- Check the carry-over count. Actions that appear three reviews running are the honest measure of the review.
Who it is for
For the quality manager who runs management review and has to show it was done under the 2026 inputs. Not a data pack; the full Management Review Pack carries the measures and the trend.

The method
Inputs are information; outputs are decisions.
Management review is where the people who control resources are required — by the standard, once a cycle at minimum — to look at whether the quality system is working. Nowhere else does the standard put top management in a room with your data and oblige them to respond. That makes it the quality function's single annual shot at getting things resourced. Most quality managers spend it presenting slides.
Notice the asymmetry in the clause. Inputs are information; outputs are decisions. A review that ends with everyone informed and nothing decided has produced no outputs, whatever the minutes say. A management review template has to be built around that fact: every required input with a named owner who presents their own data — purchasing presents supplier performance, operations presents process performance — because people defend numbers they had to stand behind, and a meeting where the quality manager presents everything becomes a briefing with an audience.
Previous actions go first, deliberately. Opening with last cycle's actions establishes that actions from this meeting are tracked and will be asked about. And every number sits beside the same number from last period — "fourteen NCRs" prompts no reaction; "fourteen against nine" prompts a question, which is what you came for.
The diagnostic is the carry-over count. One or two actions carrying over is normal life. A third of the list carrying over every cycle means actions are being agreed in the room and not resourced afterwards — which is a finding about the review itself, and belongs on its own agenda.

What it computes for you
Thirteen required inputs, each with an owner and minutes against it, and a minutes sheet that records the conclusion, not the conversation.
- Total minutes against the slot you booked
- Who presents what, so the review is not a report by the quality manager
- Three separate judgments: suitable, adequate, effective
- A worked example row to copy

Questions
Before you buy.
What has to be in a management review under ISO 9001:2026?
The inputs list was revised: changes in interested parties' needs is now its own item, and the effectiveness of actions on risks and on opportunities are listed separately. The template's agenda reflects the 2026 list.
How often should management review happen?
Annual is the floor and for most manufacturers too slow. A full review annually with a shorter mid-cycle check on objectives and actions is a defensible compromise — whatever you choose, write it down and hold to it.
Which Excel version do I need?
Excel 2016 or later on Windows or Mac, or Google Sheets. Every formula is standard: no macros, no add-ins, no external links. In Google Sheets use File → Import → Replace spreadsheet.
Why does the workbook arrive filled in?
Every workbook ships pre-filled with the same fictional plant so each dashboard, flag and trend has something to show. Read it that way first, then clear the yellow input cells; the white computed cells empty themselves.
What is the difference between an entry worksheet and a pack?
An entry worksheet is two or three tabs lifted from its pack, and it is $5 or more, your choice. The pack is the full workbook with the register, the dashboard and the field guide PDF that explains the method, for $35. Start with the worksheet; the formulas and the worked example are the same.
